ACAPULCO

The port of Acapulco, Mexico, promises visitors adventure, romance, and relaxation. This is the top spot for Mexican and foreign holidaymakers who have made this destination, known as "the Pacific Jewel," internationally famous. Rent a house in Acapulco, or stay in luxury resorts.

This natural harbor has earned global renown for its wide range of activities, quality of services, and varied nightlife. Acapulco's hotels, restaurants, SHOPPING, bars, nightclubs, and discos  offer music for every taste.

Visitors can indulge their passion for extreme sports, including bungee-jumping along the Costera (the main avenue running along the bay), rafting on the Papagayo River, boating excursions, and parasailing. In the Zona Diamante, tourists can rent ultralights that take off from Revolcadero Beach.

Acapulco has challenging golf courses and other options for those who prefer daytime activities. Tour the Costera in horse-drawn carriages called calandrias, or have a drink at one of the port's many world-class restaurants.

At the Acapulco beach resort of Pie de la Cuesta, taste wonderful seafood, chill out, or simply enjoy sunsets over the Pacific. The nearby Coyuca Lagoon, a bird sanctuary shaded by coconut palms, is just across from the resort's entrance.

Other popular beaches in Acapulco, Mexico, include Icacos, Del Morro, Hornitos, La Condesa, and El Revolcadero, famous for perfect scuba diving conditions, water skiing, sailing, and surfing.

Go fishing at Tres Palos Lagoon and Encantada Beach east of Acapulco bay. The diving show at La Quebrada is one of the port's most famous attractions, with fearless divers launching themselves from an awe-inspiring cliff into the rough waters below.

The San Diego Fort is another must-see. Built in 1616 to defend the port from pirates, it is now home to Acapulco's Historical Museum. Visit the Ignacio Manuel Altamirano Park, a children's play area known locally as the Papagayo. Pre-Columbian artifacts and Mexican folk art are on display at the Miguel Alemán Archeological Museum. Plus, there are recreational water parks for the entire family to enjoy.

This port, with an international airport, docks for cruise ships, and an express highway known as the "Autopista del Sol" connecting it to Mexico's capital city, has an excellent communications infrastructure. And the weather in Acapulco is almost always perfect.
